The Directorate of Institutional Planning and Research (DIPR) continues to strengthen itself so as to meet its obligations and challenges. Lately, the directorate appointed David Bleazard as a Director: Institutional Planning and Research in the directorate. David is a Higher Education planning consultant based in Cape Town. He was previously Director of Institutional Planning at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT), a post he occupied for more than 10 years. His responsibilities included the facilitation of the University’s strategic planning and academic planning processes, the provision of management information to the University community, and the submission of data to the national Department of Higher Education & Training. David fulfilled a number of other roles during his time with the institution, including Senior Lecturer in Journalism for 10 years, Strategic Planning Facilitator, and Merger Officer during the merger of Peninsula Technikon and Cape Technikon, which created CPUT in 2005.
