AFRIMAT Bursary

AFRIMAT is offering a bursary opportunity to Engineering students for 2026 academic year across all levels of study excluding Pre-Tech.

Eligibility Criteria
• Must be currently registered in the Engineering field.
• Must NOT be funded by NSFAS or any other bursary in 2026.
• Must demonstrate good academic performance.

• Fee Statement

Students who meet the eligibility criteria should submit the required documents to
bursaryenquiries@mut.ac.za and state clearly that it is for AFRIMAT bursary
application.

AFRIMAT Bursary

Afrimat is currently seeking first-year Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering students from the uMkhanyakude District, particularly Hluhluwe and surrounding areas. Three students per programme who meet our 65% Average pass mark.

Interested students are requested to submit the following documents:

  • Proof of registration (University letterheads)
  • Proof of residence
  • Tuition fee statement and invoice
  • Residence fee statement and invoice (if applicable)
  • Completed Afrimat bursary application form
  • Mid-year academic results
  • Copy of student ID
  • University banking details on the institution’s official letterhead
