Natural Sciences Dean receives an award in the Far East

The Acting Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Professor Roger Coopoosamy has been awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Dr V Sivaram Research Foundation. The award was presented during the 8th Global Summit on Medicinal and Aromatic Plants. The summit was held from 8-10 November 2023, at the Grand Mercure Bangkok Atrium, Bangkok, Thailand.

Professor Coopoosamy said, “The award came as a surprise. I was totally unaware of it.  The award makes MUT visible in the international arena, and the potential of developing partnerships and collaborations is huge. I am happy to have received this in recognition of my research outputs”.

The organising committee of the Research Foundation evaluates candidates independently and decides on the impact that candidates make in the field of phytomedicines. Professor Coopoosamy is a leading figure in this area of research.
