MUT Sport has football trials to boost team for the annual USSA Games

Nikiwe Ngobese

On 7 June 2024, the Sport department will have football trials at the University’s rugby field. The department’s Nikiwe Ngobese said they wanted to “find new talent” that is in the university. “We aim at finding football male players that will represent the University in the USSA Games, and the local league of Ethekwini Region. The team needs to be injected with fresh blood every year”.

Ngobese added that the male football season ends in June; “there is a window period to register new players and one of the best ways to find new talent is through trials”. Shae said that the trials are going to give “transparency to anyone, gives every person a chance to be part of the team, gives coaches a chance to see players that might not be exposed to internal league and other social games”. The trials start at 12 noon.
