University Marketing graduate Mbali Mashaba won 10km Peace in Africa race at Kings Park on 19 May 2024. A “happy” Mashaba said she wanted to run under 40 minutes but made 40 minutes and 32 seconds. “I was happy about this time. The win was a bonus. Mashaba said she got some “little cash”. While most professional athletes are preparing for the annual Comrades Marathon, Mashaba said she was not running this popular race. She said she runs the middle-distance races. Mashaba is preparing for the KwaZulu-Natal Championships race at Greyville Horse Course on 21 July 2024.
