The MUT team that gave all its time and focus on submitting top-grade concept papers for posters, workshops, and satellite workshops has now received invitation letters from SASUF. “Everything has become surreal for the team. This exposure is now a steppingstone to global engagement”, said an elated Professor Nokuthula Sibiya, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, Innovation, and Engagements. The letters to each invited staff member sent by Helin Bäckman Kartal, SASUF Project Coordinator from Uppsala University read, “Your participation is vital to the success of the conference for both Swedish and South African universities and research partners and has the potential of establishing and deepening research collaborations and furthering internationalisation efforts”. Professor Sibiya has expressed her gratitude to everyone for going the extra mile to make international conference submissions which in the long run would work in their favour as they climb up the ladder.
