A visibly heartbroken Directorate for Institutional Planning and Research (DIPR) team said goodbye to David Bleazard, a gentleman from Cape Town. Bleazard joined the directorate in January 2021 and acted as its director. He said he enjoyed his time with the team which included Acting Senior Director of the directorate, Dr Liile Lekena; Hemis Co-ordinator, Sipho Langa; Timetable Officer, Mawande Matshukuca; Senior Secretary, Mapule Sikhosana; and Hemis Officer, Noluthando Pendu.
Dr Lekena said it was an honour and privilege working under the guidance of Mr Bleazard. “The wisdom he comes with is unprecedented. The disadvantage is that the boots are too big to fill,” said Dr Lekena. Addressing Bleazard, Dr Lekena said, “Hamba kahle Mr Bleazard, you deserve a rest”. Bleazard said he was retiring.
