On Wednesday 23 May 2024 the Department of Marketing and Communications at Mangosuthu University of Technology together with MUT Radio hosted Gagasi FM Managing Director, Minenhle Dlamini at the main campus in Umlazi.
This was Dlamini’s first visit to the station and can be viewed as the beginning of a relationship between the two stations. Commenting on her visit, Dlamini said Gagasi FM has always believed in maintaining good relations with KZN community and campus radio stations as they are very rich with grassroot talent.
“It is no secret that some of our best presenters have come from local community radio stations. However, it does not end with on-air talent; we also have a keen interest in those who are in the engine room and possess other skills,” said Dlamini.
MUT Radio former presenter Lusanda Mnqayi has recently joined Gagasi FM’s on-air line-up on the trainee slots on Saturday and Sunday.
The Department of Marketing and Communications, which is the custodian of MUT Radio, welcomed the visit and committed to supporting the relationship and future collaborations between the two stations.
