Former MUT Radio DJ joins Gagasi FM

She was the darling of MUT Radio listeners on the airwaves. Now Lusanda Mnqayi has joined Gagasi FM, the number one regional commercial radio station. Lusanda, who used to drive the Hlanganani Midday Show on MUT Radio, will be driving the Early Risers Show, from 4am, to 6am, every Saturday, starting on 6 April 2024; and also drive the Massive Weekend Show, from 1am, to 4am, every Sunday, starting on 7 April 2024.

Lusanda said while at MUT Radio, she learnt a lot content wise. “I learnt how to compile content for my show. Now I will be producing my own show,” Lusanda said. Lusanda was grateful of the time she spent on MUT Radio. She was one of the founding staff of the almost three-year-old radio station. “Everyone at MUT Radio was helpful to me. I am grateful to my former colleagues and management.”

Lusanda said she wished MUT students would take the radio broadcasting opportunity seriously. “It is possible to join a commercial radio station when you have been volunteering at any radio station, as long as it well organised, like MUT Radio,” she said.
