A gentleman with a heart for MUT

Dr Olu Ajayi

Dr Olu Ajayi, CEO of Siyacanda Energy, best known as Dr Olu, continues his mission to empower and support MUT. He was one of MUT’s stakeholders that heeded the call to engage and make invaluable input to the EnergyWaterFoodClimate nexus summit. “We need partners like Dr Olu whose careers cut across academia and industry. With his PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pretoria, Dr Olu was the best fit to be part of the delegation that met the SANEDI team together with Dr Ibeanusi, Dean: School of the Environment at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University. “We are grateful to you Dr Olu for your support and contributions to MUT. Soon, I would like to explore more opportunities on how our partnership with Siyacanda Energy could be sustained”, said Professor Nokuthula Sibiya, Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Research, Innovation & Engagements. Dr Olu has been instrumental in enabling MUT to establish its first Climate Change Centre with a R12 million grant from GIZ, Germany. He has also employed MUT WIL students overtime, and sometimes he opens doors for MUT to industry such as Coca-Cola, Tongaat Huletts, and many other corporations for the placement of MUT students and industrial visits.
