The primary objective of the recent MUT alumni reunion was to attract alumni back to campus and give them time and space to reconnect with old friends and take a trip down memory lane. Meeting alumni couples and families at the reunion on 15 June really rekindled the “MUT Spirit”. One couple that melted the MUT Founder’s heart was Sizwe Cele (Mechanical Engineering Class of 2002) and Zama Cele (Chemical Engineering Class of 2005).
Now married for more than twelve years, the lovebirds met at MUT in 2001 when Zama did her Pre-tech course in chemical engineering and Sizwe was doing his final year of mechanical engineering. In 2005 Sizwe proposed and they got married on 28 October 2006, two days after Zama’s 24th birthday. This is one of the many MUT love stories we get to celebrate when our alumni come back home to share their journeys.
