Purpose
The main purpose of this position is to raise enthusiastic MUT Student Ambassadors who will be the face and voice of the MUT brand among the student body. As a successful candidate, you will be involved in increasing awareness about the importance of protecting the brand and promoting student programmes from various departments within MUT across various channels. You will work closely with the Directorates of Student Affairs, Learning & Teaching, Marketing & Communication, Community Engagement & Development, and the Vice-Chancellor’s Office to achieve MUT’s strategic objectives and transform the student culture, inculcate a scholarly culture and changed student behaviour. To excel in this role, you will need excellent communication skills, networking skills and strong presence on social media.
Requirements
- Registered MUT student
- Excellent writing and speaking in the two official languages used by the University, English and isiZulu
- Ability to conceptualise and execute student activations across all MUT campuses
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Ability to travel for work

| Internal student communication | Provide input into the development of appropriate internal student communication models and channels. Build and promote external networks and develop sources of information from students, staff and stakeholders.
Produce documentation for effective communication of policies, information, events, newsworthy stories to students [in consultation with Marcomms. Cover major events and issues at MUT Conduct follow-up/surveys to evaluate the effectiveness of communication strategies to students. |
