MINIMUN REQUIREMENTS:

Post Graduate Diploma in Nature Conservation, or a Bachelor of Science Honours in Biological Sciences or an equivalent four-year qualification in the same or similar field.

The selection criterion is based on academic prowess and field experience.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

National Diploma in Agriculture (Crop Production) or equivalent.

A 60% aggregate pass.

 

Advanced Diploma in Agricultural Extension and Community Development

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

National Diploma or Diploma in Agricultural Extension and Community Development.

60% Pass Mark in Field Crop Production III/ Agronomy III and Food Processing III.

Advanced Diploma in Information and Communication Technology

FACULTY OF NATURAL SCIENCES

 

ADVANCED DIPLOMA IN INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

 

a.    Course Description:

The Advanced Diploma in Software Development is a hands-on qualification that ensures students are taught the latest up-to-date practices and actual programming. This course prepares students to become a full-fledged software developer. It provides students with the advanced knowledge of software

development as well as the information required for managing, designing, and developing software applications.

b. Exit Level Outcomes

A student who successfully completes this programme will be able to:

1.    Apply research techniques to propose solutions to an identified IT or business-related problem

2.    Apply information and project management principles to IT or business-related environments

3.    Effectively administer and/or assist in the management and control of an IT environment by applying IT management

and governance principles

4.    Formulate, undertake and resolve complex theoretical and practice-related problems and tasks through the selection and use of appropriate applications development technologies, methods and techniques.

 

c.    Admission requirement(s):

A National Diploma in Information Technology with a minimum of 360 credits in Software Development, or Web Application Development, or a Diploma in Computer Science, or a relevant bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification in Computer Science or Software Engineering at NQF Level 6. Prospective students must also have a minimum average of 60% across all modules and be proficient with advanced programming. Holders

of any other South African or foreign qualification may also be considered.

d.   Course Duration:

Minimum Time for completion – Full Time: (number of years)-1

The lectures will be presented in a face-to-face mode and via internet‐based platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom.
