MUT announces Easter closure as Interim Vice-Chancellor extends holiday wishes

The Interim Vice-Chancellor and Principal of Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT), Professor Rushiella Songca, has extended warm Easter wishes to staff and students, and encouraged the University community to use the upcoming break as a time for rest, reflection, and connection with loved ones. In a message addressed to the MUT community, the University leader highlighted the importance of the Easter period as an opportunity to recharge and nurture meaningful relationships. Professor Songca also conveyed special well-wishes to those observing the religious significance of Easter, as well as to individuals planning to travel during this period.

Through the Interim Vice-Chancellor and Principal, the University confirmed that it will officially close for the Easter break on Thursday, 2 April 2026, with operations resuming on Tuesday, 7 April 2026. To accommodate travel arrangements, MUT will close earlier than usual on Thursday; the University will close at 11:00 am.

MUT management has urged staff and students to prioritise safety during the break, particularly those embarking on journeys. The Interim Vice-Chancellor and Principal’s message concluded with a note of goodwill, wishing the entire MUT community a safe, peaceful, and joyous Easter weekend.
