Dr Mfanozelwe Shozi, CEAD’s Deputy Director, has taken the idea of a Master Class with all positivity because “we want to create a revolution where we raise awareness on volunteerism among all students. The Master Class will take place on 30 July 2025. This dynamic session is a spinoff from the recent engagements led by Vice-Chancellor and Principal, Professor Nokuthula Sibiya, during her visit to California. This effort sparked deep reflections on youth leadership and civic responsibility. “We will be facilitating this session, and we are adding to many internationalisation projects we have had and also joining other departments that have long-established projects with US institutions”, said Dr Shozi.
“Every department essentially needs to have an internationalisation project,” said Professor Nokuthula Sibiya. “We welcome the foresight CEAD is bringing to the University. Like many departments already active in the internationalisation arena, CEAD is contributing towards building global bridges through social impact”, she added.
During the Master Class, a key presentation will be delivered by Nicole Richards, a respected Operations Manager at COSAS in Berkeley, San Francisco, US, who will delve into how volunteerism can be formalised and integrated within the academic and personal development journey of every student.
