The Faculty of Management Sciences celebrated its Class of 2026, with Acting Dean Dr Nomsa Majiya delivering an inspiring message of resilience, personal growth, and boundless future potential. Addressing the graduates and their proud families, Dr Majiya marked the transition of the students from academia to the professional world. “Today marks the end of one chapter and the beginning of another journey filled with endless opportunities, challenges, and growth,” Dr Majiya said, setting an uplifting and celebratory tone for the proceedings.
The Acting Dean commended the graduates for their unwavering commitment, taking time to acknowledge the unseen hurdles many had to overcome to reach the graduation stage. From late-night study sessions to the delicate balancing act of managing both work and academic responsibilities, she validated their sacrifices.
“To all the graduates here, CONGRATULATIONS, HALALA!!” Dr Majiya cheered from the podium. “You have worked tirelessly, overcame obstacles, and shown an unwavering commitment to your goals. Whether it was late nights studying, balancing work and school, or persevering through tough moments, YOU MADE IT! Today is your day to shine and celebrate the rewards of your hard work and determination.”
Beyond the physical conferral of diplomas and degrees, Dr Majiya emphasised the holistic value of the University experience. She reminded the graduating class that their true achievements encompass the friendships they have forged, the internal strength they have discovered during trying times, and the invaluable life lessons they have gathered along the way. These experiences, she noted, are the true tools that will shape who they become.
Looking ahead to the future, Dr Majiya urged the Class of 2026 to view their graduation as a launchpad, not as a finish line. She painted a picture of a world ripe with possibilities, challenging the new alumni to create, dream and explore. “You have the power to make a difference, to push boundaries, and to turn your aspirations into reality,” she affirmed.
The heartfelt address concluded with a special, moving tribute to the parents and guardians who served as the backbone for the graduates’ success. Expressing deep gratitude for their lifelong support, Dr Majiya offered a poignant blessing. “Kubazali, siyabonga ngokweseka abantwana kusukela ekuqaleni kuze kube namhlanje. UNkulunkulu anibusise, anigcine, niphephe uma senibuyela emakhaya.” (To the parents, thank you for supporting your children from the very beginning until today. May God bless you, protect you, and grant you safe travels as you return to your homes.)
The Deans of the Faculties of Applied and Health Sciences and Engineering, Professor Alfred Msomi, and Dr Richard Chidzonga, also presented their messages of support to the graduates.
