University Notice: Water Crisis
The EMC notes with regret the ongoing water crisis on campus. The university is considering measures to alleviate the situation, including appeals to donors and the establishment of water stations on both campuses. Ablution facilities will also be provided.
Lectures, practicals, and tests will continue as scheduled until closure on 27 March 2026. Students should attend classes and write their tests, after which they must return home or their residences. Students are advised, where possible, to move out of the residences after completing all their tests.
The university will monitor the situation and updates communicated regularly. According to the eThekwini Municipality, the water shortage is likely to persist for the next three to four weeks.
We thank you for your understanding and apologise for the inconvenience.
