Subject: Invitation to the Official Launch of the MUT Strategy 2026–2030 (IGNITE 2030)
It is my pleasure to invite you to attend the official launch of the Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) Strategy 2026–2030, IGNITE 2030.

his strategic gathering marks an important milestone for our university as we set the direction for MUT’s institutional priorities and focus for the period 2026–2030.
I would also like to once again express my sincere appreciation for that warm reception and honour extended to me during the welcome meeting with Council’s statutory bodies on Monday, the 2nd of March, this week. I felt deeply honoured by the spirit of collegiality and support demonstrated during that engagement.
You may recall that during my speech, I shared the outline of my 100-Day Leadership Plan, which places strong emphasis on engagement, institutional stability, and strategic alignment across the University.
The IGNITE 2030 Launch now sets the stage for translating this vision into action. Through this launch, I will share the strategic agenda for my tenure as Interim Vice-Chancellor, outlining key elements of IGNITE 2030.
This moment will also mark the beginning of the implementation phase of my 100-day leadership plan, during which I will actively engage with staff, students, MUT leadership, and other critical internal and external stakeholders. These engagements will focus on strengthening institutional cohesion and cultivating a shared sense of purpose as we work collectively to advance the University’s mandate.
As MUT enters a new strategic cycle, it is both timely and necessary that we consolidate and deepen a shared understanding of our Academic Identity as Mangosuthu University of Technology. The successful implementation of IGNITE 2030 depends on our collective clarity about who we are as an institution, what we stand for, and how we enact our mandate as the MUT Community.
