Today, 31 October 2025, a well-known Maskandi music veteran and his wife visited the MUT Radio. Bhekisisa ‘Ihhashi Elimhlophe’ Ngcobo and Linah ‘Ebony’ Ngcobo dazzled the MUT staff that popped through the glass doors as Ngcobo danced in the live studio, while Awethu Kelese, MUT Radio Programmes’ Manager, played his music. Ihhashi Elimhlophe and Ebony talked about their love for music and how they became a couple. ‘Ihhashi Elimhlophe’, from then Natal, met ‘Ebony’ in Limpopo, and immediately fell in love with her. “I was not really taken by his story. But he was persistent,” said Ebony. The couple have been married for 40 years. They have four children, and nine grandchildren. They are an excellent example of how a love story should be put into action.
Explaining how they have sustained their relationship as a married couple, Ebony said the word of God is sustaining them. “We believe every family need God as their constitution to govern them,” said Ebony. They are both very committed Christians. Ngcobo supported what his wife said. Ihhashi Elimhlophe’ has created more than 30 albums. His latest album is Ma-Afrika.
