‘This honour is not mine alone’, Faculty of Applied and Health Sciences double Gold winner

Dr Karishma Singh, a Lecturer in the Faculty of Applied and Health Sciences’ Department of Nature Conservation, has paid tribute to the team she works with after winning two Gold Awards at the Research and Community Engagement award ceremony that took place off campus on 3 October 2025. Dr Singh won the Faculty of Applied and Health Sciences’ and Senate Awards. She said she was “deeply honoured” to receive these awards. “These recognitions are not only personal milestones, but also a reflection of the collaborative spirit, mentorship, and support that define our academic community,” Dr Singh said. Dr Singh expressed her gratitude to her faculty and the University for these “prestigious honour”. She said it reflects the hard work and commitment of her research team, the guidance of her mentors, and the unwavering support of the Research Office, as well as colleagues, collaborators, and students. “I am sincerely grateful for their contributions and for the enabling environment our University provides for meaningful and impactful research,” Dr Singh said, adding that the recognition of research excellence by the University underscores the importance of advancing knowledge that addresses both academic and societal challenges.
