TLDC strikes a positive note on the visiting team

Dr Colen Tuaunde, Director of Academic Development at NUST

To mark the landmark visit by the NUST delegation, MUT Radio hosted Dr Tuaundu, Dr Annely Willemse and Ester Johannes to reflect on their visit. Dr Tuaunde praised the MUT team for their transparency, hospitality, and depth of knowledge, stating, “This visit was nothing short of inspiring. MUT has created an invaluable model of academic excellence and student-centred learning that we are eager to contextualise and implement at NUST. He also added that “We are taking the lessons learned home, and we also noted that we have some similarities.”

Further reflecting on the visit, Ester Johannes said, “We are not leaving empty-handed but with a full briefcase. The warmth and hospitality we received is commendable”. Dr Annely Willemse who was impressed with being at the radio studio reflected on how they should also use their studio and expressed appreciation at being at an institution at Umlazi Township expressing how government brought education to the people, an advantage that should remind every MUT employee of the role they are playing in making a difference to the people of Umlazi Township, KZN and South Africa.

Throughout the interview, Dr Makua, Dr Gumede, Dr Sentsho, and all who hosted them at TLDC were equally commended for their meticulous coordination and the high-calibre presentations delivered during the benchmarking sessions. Their efforts not only reflected MUT’s institutional strength but also reinforced the university’s commitment to academic leadership and regional collaboration.
