The only remaining founder member of Umbhaqanga music band visited the MUT Radio on 27 November 2025, to announce the release of the band’s new album called Thathokwakho. Moses Ngwenya, a well-known piano player, said their album would be released on 28 November 2025. “From 12 o’clock midnight, people can start streaming,” said Ngwenya to the Hangout show host, Qhawe Gumede. Ngwenya also said the release of the album was also part of the band’s celebration of 50 years.

To Ngwenya’s surprise, the MUT Radio team had invited a music student from Esayidi TVET College. Lizwi Cele was in the studio with his music lecturers, Andile Gumede and Tiwonge Nkwazi. Cele, although young, is now a fantastic guitarist. He played and sang one of the Soul Brothers’ songs.   Ngwenya was more than surprised. “This was a jaw-dropping performance,” said Moses Ngwenya. He further said he would not mind if young people like Cele modify their music to suit the tastes of younger audiences.
