The Head of the Academic Department, Xolani Kunene has said that everything regarding the mid-year registration is on track. Kunene, who chaired the last registration meeting before the mid-year registration that will take place from 21-25 July 2025, said they were now contacting applicants that have accepted their offers to finalise pre-registration issues. Kunene said that they have issued 681 firm offers for the 590 places. A total of 9061 applications were received for these places in five Engineering faculty programmes, and Analytical Chemistry, in the Faculty of Applied and Health Sciences.
During the meeting, all divisions that are involved the registration process confirmed that they were on top of what they need to do for the process. However, there will still be some meetings that will be held individually by some of these divisions to finalise what they need to do. One of these will be the Health and Safety division that has to inspect the venues when they are all set up.
