What is an offer?

An offer is communication from University Student Administration, informing an applicant that their application has been successful, and they have a place at MUT.

What is the difference between a firm and conditional offer?

Conditional offers are only given to applicants who are currently writing Grade 12. Conditional offers are subject to applicants meeting all the entry requirements when the final results are out in January 2022.

firm offer is SMS communication from the university to an applicant stating that they have been granted a place to study at MUT because they meet all the entry requirements. A firm offer is accompanied by a student number. Applicants who have been given firm offers are also expected to accept firm offers and pay the R500 acceptance of offer fee. If they do not accept the firm offer within the allocated period, the firm offer is given to the next applicant.

How do I accept my firm offer?

When accepting a firm offer, you are required to pay R500 to MUT bank account, quoting your student number as reference. The R500 that you pay when accepting a firm offer is part of the R1650 (semester students) or R2750 (annual students) registration fee that you will have to pay depending on whether you are a semester or annual student. You will be required to produce proof of payment of the R500 to get financially cleared to register.
