Staff member requests colleagues to help fund nephew with Rugby Tour team money

Sibona Jijimba

A very responsible uncle is on a mission to help his nephew reach his sporting dream. Nkosana Jijimba, a staff member at the Department of Information Technology and Networks (IT&N), is appealing to staff to assist Sibona Jijimba, a Grade 9 learner at Umlazi’s Comtech High School, with funds to pay for his Rugby trip to Pretoria in late September. Sibona’s good performance in his Comtech rugby team, where he is Captain, and at Amanzimtoti Rugby Club, has earned him a place in the KZN Duikers, an amateur team for the KwaZulu-Natal Rugby Union (KZNRU) and Durban Rugby Sub-Union (DRSU). Sibona was speechless when asked how he felt about the opportunity to play for the KZNRU Duikers in the interprovincial rugby tournament in Pretoria, from 30 September to 7 October 2023. The trip is self-funded. Learners/players and their families must raise R10 500 for the trip.

Jijimba is making an appeal to MUT colleagues to support the young man’s dream through donations that can be deposited into a DRSU  Standard Bank Account number 252 850 998, Code 042 826, with the reference Sibona Jijimba and send proof of payment to his WhatsApp 076 035 6376, or to jijimba@gmail.com
