Nestled under the pavilion, and completely out of sight, is newly renovated gem! These are the University’s sports change rooms for both male and female teams. The change rooms have been recently given a face lift, and were handed over to the Department of Sport on 22 December 2020. The Acting Deputy Director in the department, Bongile Ganyile, said the timing of the hand-over was perfect. “This would not have come at the better time when all our energy is directed at making sure that we offer an excellent service to our students and the University community at large,” said Bongile. The department is in the process of rebranding and repositioning itself, according to Bongile. Bongile said they were now going to host teams with pride, knowing that they had such a facility that would lift everyone’s spirit.

Sport at MUT has becoming a career-lodging pad for some students. A number of the University former students are now holding positions at national sport bodies. Some have taken part at international tournaments. As Bongile put it, sport at MUT inspires everyone to strive to excel.
