Soccer – MUT team plays its last match of the season

On 15 April 2023, the men’s soccer team will play against Trouble Tigers at the King Zwelithini Stadium outer fields, with the venue subject to change. This will be the last 2022/2023 SAB League match for the current holders of the Ethekwini Regional Mens League championship, which used to be called SAB League.

The team is at position eight in the league standings. General Manager, Siyanda Khwela, said they were well-prepared for the showdown.

“We are training every day from 16h00 to 18h00. All the players are available for selection, the team is in good shape, and there are no injuries. Our leading goal scorer, Mbekezeli Jobe, is ready. He has scored seven goals in 29 games,” said Khwela.  The kick-off is at 15h00.

The junior team, MUT Academy, will play the following day in the LFA league against Lions FC at the E Sections grounds in Umlazi. The team is leading the log table with 67 points from 22 wins, and one draw. The team has played 26 matches and has a game in hand against the second-placed team. The match starts at noon.
