Maya Angelou once said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” This is the exact feeling experienced by the rated researchers at the ‘Thank you’ event hosted by Professor Sibiya on Thursday, 01 June. “Today, I just want to express my sincere gratitude at the amount of time you have put to ensure that you achieve new recognition in your research journey. This year we have increased our excellence in research, through your tireless work. You have five years in your current rating. You can never go back now. I am here today to thank you for advancing MUT’s vision and goals, so that we become a top university. I have a dream for MUT just as Martin Luther King said, ‘I have a dream’. My dream is to exceed our previous years’ research output. I assure you; I am with you, and I will walk with you”, she said. The rated researchers recognised were Professor Theophilus Davies, Dr Daveshan Naidoo, and of course Professor Sibiya whose mission is to lead research from the front.
