Early crisis identification

saved lives

MUT’s crisis identification strategy which led to the University forming a COVID-19 Task

Team (CTT), needs to be commended. The team was formed in March and Sister Nomusa

Mkhwanazi was appointed as the COVID-19 Task Team Convenor in May. Under her

tutelage, the CTT has enforced many protocols to prevent the spread of the coronavirus

at MUT.

With nearly 15 000 deaths in the country, the University has done well in raising awareness about COVID-19 and

preventing the spread of the virus. Its various COVID-19 campaigns are run across multiple channels, including

email and WhatsApp messages, as well as regular updates on social media platforms and our website.
