The Department of Infrastructure Planning & Projects continues to provide solutions to infrastructure-related challenges in the University. The department has provided 19 new academic office spaces around the Bozzoli Hall precinct. Lindokuhle Mzolo, Infrastructure Project Coordinator, said that they conducted space assessment and identified space which could be reconfigured to respond to the requested space needs. “The second phase will be to provide 25 more office spaces. This is part of a broader University Infrastructure Improvement Plan which seeks to provide solutions to space challenges. As part of the interventions that the department is championing, we have also begun the campus beautification project, which will be implemented in different phases,” said Mzolo.
Mzolo added that some of the projects the department is busy with include: the completion of refurbishment and reconfiguration of the Work Integrated Learning Training Venue at P-Block; the internal painting and cleaning of face brick to all main campus residences; the installation of main entrance refurbishment, including signage with the new logo; and the installation of Air-conditioning System at Library.
