MUT Surveying graduate – the best in the country

MUT Surveying graduate, Dolly Potgieter, won the South African Geomatics Institute (SAGI) award for being the best Diploma Student in the country. Dolly said it was her dedication and hard work that saw her through. “I used to study even during the weekends. My lecturers also played a big role,” said the serial Deans Commendations award winner.  The award was sponsored by survey instrument manufacturers and suppliers, OPTRON. Dolly received her award from OPTRON’s Danial Reid, and a floating trophy.  Dolly was reading for a Diploma in the Department of Civil Engineering & Surveying at MUT.  The National Diploma Programme in Engineering Surveying received full accreditation  from the South African Geomatics Council (SAGC, formerly PLATO) after their recent visit to the institution. The panel members consisted of professionals from UCT, UKZN, and prominent private Practitioners from KZN.
