Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT) graduate, Nonhlanhla Vezi, has published a book. Vezi, who is a Research Assistant in the Department of Community Extension at MUT, said she wrote the book to capture a certain point in South Africa’s post-apartheid history.
Vezi said her book, The Black Graduate in a Corporative World, is about what it means to be young, black, and educated while being a woman.
“The book touches on themes such as economic power, and political support, the justice system in the country, its education system, the modern family structure, food security, and lastly, Gender-Based Violence (GBV). The latter forms the core of the book,” she said.
Vezi said she chose to focus on GBV as South Africa is reeling under this scourge. The justice system has failed many women.
The book, explained Vezi, is for anyone who loves to know about how the people of South Africa live their lives and can change how we view the world. She believes the book will empower the reader with the wisdom they need, and be able to take the necessary decisions.
Vezi is taking pre-orders. Please see the details in the picture. The book will be released in October.
