The 2018 annual Empowered Administrators Conference (EAC) will be different; it will miss one of its staunchest supporters, Annalene Johanna Maree, and the winner of a car during the 2015 EAC, and the most loved MUT employee. Annalene is leaving the University after 29 years of dedication to MUT.
Speaking with a heavy heart, Annalene said: “I went on a casual walk-about to bid farewell to as many people as I could … I spent 29 wonderful years at MUT, and will sorely miss my friends, and the interaction with my colleagues. Workwise I have gained greatly from the experience and the opportunities to develop. Thank you to all of you who have crossed my path in some way or another, thank you for all the kindness, the help, and the support. You were such a pleasure to work with and you were not just colleagues but friends. To quote the last lines of a well-known Irish farewell prayer: ‘May the wind be always at your back, and until we meet again. May God hold you in the palm of his hand.”
Like a good dancer, Annalene is leaving the stage at the right time. “We are saddened to let Annalene go but happy that she leaves shortly after being chosen the most loved employee at MUT during the #HugYourHeart campaign during the month of love, February this year. The 14th of February also happens to be her birthday, which explains the love that she exudes to all those that touch her space,” said Mbali Mkhize, Senior Director, Department of Marketing and Communications (MarComms).
