MUT distributes learning material to second-year students
As part of Mangosuthu University of Technology’s efforts to save the academic year, MUT will start distributing learning material to second-year students from its Bozzoli and Seme Halls from 3 to 7 September 2020. Students have been assigned Faculty specific days to collect learning material as part of the University’s efforts to enforce social distancing and to prevent congestion. The Faculty of Natural Sciences students will collect their learning material on 3 September; the Faculty of Management Sciences students will collect theirs on 4 and 5 September, while students in the Faculty of Engineering are set to collect on 7 and 8 September.
Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor: Teaching and Learning, Dr Manyane Makua said that the University would courier learning materials to all students who are unable to collect their learning material on the stipulated dates. The second-year students are the only group of students that has not been allowed to return back to campus through the phased return. So far MUT has welcomed back clinical students, post-diploma and final year students, along with first-year students who returned to campus on 29 August 2020, to make-up the 66% of students allowed back in campus as per the Lockdown Level 2 guidelines.
First-year students are currently attending the COVID-19 orientation before they start face-to-face lectures on 3 September 2020.
