Learning labs of the future are here, use them

One of many screens in the Lab

In the beginning of 2019, the Teaching and Learning Development Centre (TLDC) opened the Learning Lab 2 for use by the MUT community. The Lab features spaces set up for group work; each table has space for five chairs and big flat screen monitor which allows students to view their group work on the monitor instead of having to huddle around one computer. The icing on the cake is the big projector screen at the front. This feature also allows for the presenter to have their presentations appear on all the monitors (screens) dedicated to each table. This is a welcome feature for those who are near-sighted. It also means that a group that is bigger can use the room while observing social distance and does not have to all be looking at the projector screen at the front.
