MUT continues to benefit from its solid relationship with government. MUT, as a historically disadvantaged institution (HDI) received R2. 6 million grant from DHET to secure its IT&N infrastructure.   Nkosana Jijimba, Business Analyst and Project leader, said the funds will help address issues like hacking and any other malicious activities upon the University resources and its systems. “The improvements on the infrastructure will generate a record that will be of assistance in further improving our processes. The same record will be used to improve the skills set of internal staff,” said Jijimba.  There will be roadshows planned to start on 6 August 2018 to create awareness of how the new system will work. Jijimba added that during the roadshows they will go into details as to how the system will be of benefit to the University.
