Final-year students and young alumni to receive workplace readiness certification
Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT), in collaboration with IQRAA Trust and Young Leaders Academy will give certification to final year students and young alumni who took part in the Work-Readiness Programme in September 2019. The certification ceremony will take place on Friday, 8 November 2019 at 14h00 in the MUT Council Chamber.
“We are excited that our students and young alumni have completed the work-readiness programme,” said Modjadji Baloyi, MUT alumni relations officer. “This programme has empowered our students with the necessary skills to improve their employability.”
The Workplace Readiness Programme was organised by the Alumni Relations Office in the MUT Department of Marketing and Communications. The Programme empowered the students with lessons that would improve the employability of MUT graduates. Some of the major lessons include accurately evaluating strengths, passions and values before choosing a career, application of academic and technical skills, creativity and innovation, and integrity and ethical leadership.
Students and young alumni were also given a chance to work on their critical thinking skills, personal branding, managing finances, Curriculum Vitae and interview skills.
The eight-week programme was run by the Young Leaders Academy. The sessions were funded by the IQRAA Trust on behalf of our students and alumni.
